Letter to the family

My name is Sadie, and I'm from Tampa, FL. I'm currently in my fourth year at the University of Florida and will graduate in May 2025. I'm looking for the growth experience of living abroad for the summer before I start physical therapy school in late August 2025. I've always loved working with kids and absolutely adore the chance to become a part of a family other than my own. I've grown up finding experiences working with kids, including roles as a babysitter, overnight camp counselor, and Sunday school teacher.

Experience

I currently nanny for a family in Gainesville with four kids: twin 5-year-old girls and boys aged 9 and 12. I primarily handle the girls because the boys are mostly self-sufficient. My duties include school pickup and taking kids to after-school activities. This semester, I only average about 8 hours per week due to school and other commitments, but in the past, I worked 2 afternoons a week and 1 morning, which would include preparing and taking the kids to school. This has been my favorite experience working with kids because this family has made me part of the family, and I'm really looking forward to having a similar experience abroad. I have some experience living abroad; I studied abroad in Europe for 2 months in the summer of 2023 and lived in Israel for the summer of 2024. I also have other experience working with kids as a Sunday school teacher at a synagogue, where I teach general Jewish studies to kids aged 5-12 every Sunday. I also was an overnight camp counselor for two summers with kids aged 10-14.
