Letter to the family

Hi, future host family! I am Jessa May , 25 years old from the Philippines and currently an au pair in the Netherlands. I am searching for my next host family as I would love to continue my au pair journey.

Leaving your comfort zone is a big risk and can be tough but I am one of those lucky people who have been given a chance to embark and enjoy this Au Pair Program. Living with people and a place that is unfamiliar to you can be quite a challenge and scary but at the same time it can be fun and life changing, I have been blessed with a lovely family here in the Netherlands who welcomed me as a part of their household. With that being said, I was motivated to do another year/s of being an au pair. I want to continue learning about other countries culture, broaden my understanding through this program and at the same time share my own culture to you. I know that welcoming someone in your home can be a tough decision to be made but I can assure you that I am reliable and responsible when given a task, I am also easy going, flexible and adaptive to changes so it will be easy for me to make connections to other people especially to the kids and I believe I have enough experience to be your next au pair.

Experience

Being an au pair made me realize and experience a lot of different things, independence is not new to me as I have been independent most of my life as the eldest child among my siblings but when I started my au pair journey, I just realized that it is very different to live independently away from home and in a foreign country; it might be challenging but it is also fulfilling at the same time. Currently, I am taking care of 4 sweet and loving kids of ages 13, 11, 6 and 4. I am enjoying every bit of my experience from spending time with the kids to exploring new cities and experiencing a whole new world for myself. Over the past months that I have been here in the Netherlands I have discovered so many things about myself, different places, food and culture. It gave me so much happiness and fulfillment to do the things that I love to do and that pushed me to make a decision to continue indulging myself to different cultures.
