Dear families looking for an au pair, I'm Danilú, a Mexican girl currently studying German. My reasons for being an au pair are simple but vast: I like learning languages and the culture of other countries, and the best way to learn is by experiencing it. Although I don't spend much time with my family because of university, I've always been a family girl, quite independent but essentially someone who especially enjoys time with my family, going out to play or creating games inside the house, watching a movie, going for a walk, or helping with homework. These are things I enjoy doing with my younger siblings. Meeting people is another of my motivations. I've always believed that the best way to grow personally is by learning from others. I believe that being able to be part of a family for a while is the best opportunity for this, getting to know a life completely different from my own and, at the same time, allowing others to get to know me. My greatest experience babysitting is as a middle sister. For a long time I was the youngest and therefore I was the one who led the games with my older sister and my cousins. As I grew up and met my other siblings I also became an older sister. In short, I enjoyed having someone to play with again, but also discovering that new facet as the one who helps take care of the younger ones, from playing with them to preparing food. In short, it is a stage that when I discovered it, I knew it was a part of me. I have also volunteered for a summer school, although I mainly looked after and taught children aged 8 to 11, from time to time I helped the other teachers with the teenagers and children aged 5 to 7. During this school year I was able to spend time with very different children, gaining experience in a variety of situations due to the very different personalities of the little ones, and also as the days went by I felt an appreciation for them more like a sister than a guide.
