Dear Host Family,

My name is Jillian, and I am 17 years old. I will turn 18 in September. I am half Italian and half Canadian, and I currently live alone in Torino while completing a second high school diploma. I already finished high school in Canada, but I chose to pursue an additional diploma in Italy so that I can have more opportunities to study in Europe in the future.

Since I was young, I have lived in many different places, including Ethiopia, Canada, southern Italy, and Germany. I also spent time in Munich as an exchange student. Because of these experiences, I have developed a strong appreciation for different cultures and languages, and I speak English, Italian, French, and German fluently.

I want to become an au pair because I love experiencing new cultures and making a positive impact in people’s lives. I also see this as a great opportunity to improve my language skills, gain work experience, and help out a family in a meaningful way.

I believe I would be a great fit for your family because I am independent, responsible, and very open-minded. Having lived in so many different countries and now living on my own in Torino, I know how to adapt to new situations quickly. I have also already experienced living with a new family as an exchange student in Munich, so I understand the importance of being respectful and cooperative in a home environment.

In addition to this, I have experience taking care of children. I have a younger brother whom I have babysat since he was little, so I understand the responsibility, patience, and care needed when looking after kids. I enjoy spending time with children, engaging them in activities, and being a positive presence in their lives.
