Letter to the family

Dear Future Host Family,

My name is Madelyn, and I’m thrilled at the possibility of becoming part of your home and family as an Au Pair. I’m originally from Ohio, USA, and I come from a big family—I’m the middle child of five siblings, so I’ve always been surrounded by energy, noise, and love. I’m currently pursuing my Master of Business Administration, and alongside my academic journey, I’ve gained years of experience caring for children, both within my own family and for other families in my community.

My desire to become an Au Pair is rooted in a genuine love for working with children and a deep curiosity about other cultures. I believe that being an Au Pair is more than just a job—it’s an exchange of experiences, values, and everyday life. I want to immerse myself in a new culture, learn your language and traditions, and become a positive and reliable presence in your children’s lives. I’m excited to help with daily routines, assist with homework, share fun activities, and contribute to a happy and organized household.

You should consider hosting me because I bring not only years of hands-on childcare experience, but also maturity, creativity, and patience. Growing up in a large family taught me how to communicate clearly, stay flexible, and handle the unexpected with calm and care. My time working as a babysitter, student ambassador, and digital media coordinator has helped me develop responsibility, empathy, and problem-solving skills—all of which I know are essential in a caregiving role.

What sets me apart is my ability to balance fun and safety. I genuinely enjoy spending time with children—whether it’s through storytelling, crafts, outdoor games, or simply listening to their thoughts—and I take their well-being seriously. I see every child as unique and valuable, and I’m committed to supporting their growth in a kind, respectful, and nurturing way.

Thank you so much for considering me as your future Au Pair. I look forward to learning more about your family, your values, and how I can become a part of your everyday life. I’m confident that this experience will be as meaningful and enriching for me as I hope it will be for you.

Warmly,
Madelyn

Experience

Although I haven’t officially held the title of "Au Pair" yet, I’ve been caring for children for many years—starting with my own siblings as the middle child in a family of five. From a young age, I naturally stepped into a caregiving role, helping with everything from homework to meals and bedtime routines. As I got older, I began babysitting for other families in my community, which taught me how to adapt to different parenting styles, household rules, and children's personalities.

This hands-on experience has helped me develop patience, empathy, and strong communication skills. I’ve worked with children of various ages, and I genuinely enjoy building connections with them, creating a safe and fun environment where they can learn and grow.

I would love to become an Au Pair abroad because it’s the perfect combination of my passion for childcare and my desire to explore new cultures. I believe living with a family in a different country offers a unique chance to experience life from a local perspective, improve my language skills, and build lasting cross-cultural relationships. I see it as a meaningful exchange—not only will I support your family, but I’ll also learn and grow personally and culturally.

Being an Au Pair abroad is not just a job for me—it’s a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to give, learn, and connect in a deeply human way.
