Since I was little, I've been surrounded by children and have happily taken on the role of caregiver. My younger brother and my cousin have been my first "mini-clients," so to speak. From helping with homework to making up bedtime stories, I've always found a way to make our time together special.
Over time, my experience didn't stay within the family. Friends of my parents began asking me to babysit their children on specific occasions, and so, almost without realizing it, I became the trusted person they call when they need someone responsible, patient, and with a good dose of creativity to keep the little ones entertained.
In addition to playing, I also know how to handle crying spells, small tantrums, or situations in which they need support and reassurance. Because yes, babysitting isn't just about building Lego castles or drawing unicorns; it's also about being there when they need a calming voice or a hug that makes them feel like everything is okay.
This whole experience has given me a lot of confidence in my ability to be an au pair. I know that caring for a child is a big responsibility, but it's one I take on with love and commitment. I am a friendly, hardworking, and cheerful person. I always try to fill any place I go with a good mood, because I believe life is much better when there's laughter involved. I love making people around me laugh and connecting with others, always trying to make them feel comfortable and at ease with me.
One of my favorite hobbies is reading and listening to music, and if I can do both at the same time, even better! I also enjoy discovering new places and taking long walks.
When my time as an Au Pair is over, I plan to do an internship as a nursing assistant and earn my certification. However, if I enjoy the experience as much as I imagine, I wouldn't rule out repeating it. I'm sure it will be a time full of learning, growth, and unforgettable moments.
