Letter to the family

Hi my future host family,

My name is Apolline, I am nearly 19 and I come from Troyes (champagne region in France).
After passed my Baccalauréat last June, I decided to fly to Australia to improve my English skills. So now I am studying English and living in Sydney till late January 2025, and I really would like to discover another part of your country and of the Australian way of life thanks to my future au pair job.
I am a dynamic, creative, organized person. I also like listening to music, meeting new people and families and exploring new cultures.
I like taking care of children. Indeed in France, I was a baby sitter for children who were aged between 2 and 8 years. I will be able to prepare meals, give them bath, play with them..., teach them some French songs and words, and I am sure they will teach me a lot about English vocabulary. I also got my BAFA (1 st part), a French diploma, to take care of children, so I got much information about hygiene, food, and I had the opportunity to create several outdoor games, creative activities...
So I am ready to join your family so that we can share a few months together. Please feel free to contact me for any further information.

Looking forward to meeting you and your children.

Experience

I regularly was a baby sitter for to families in France. Both were compose of two children:
- Geoffrey ( 8) and Maxance (3), two very dynamic boys but very friendly.
- Oscar ( 4) and Alice (2)
I helped them to take their bath, cooked for dinner, read them stories, songs, organized several handmade activities, drawings etc...

Last year I decided to join a primary school for on week s a trainee to discover the education world for pupils between 6 and 11. I integrated a class of pupils who were 7. Since it was the last week before summer holidays, the teacher and I were very buzy with the rehearsal of the end of the school year show. Some children had to learn a song, others had been playing an instrument for several months and I helped them to repeat every day.
I also "taught" a lesson about geometrics which was not very easy for me to do since it was the first time for me to teach.
The pupils were very curious about me and asked me many questions about my life, my studies and my family and it was a pleasure to answer them.
This experience showed me that it is important to listen to children, to communicate with them, to explain to them what is going on. It also is very important to let them do and trust them.

As my babysitting experiences were very interesting and it was a pleasure to take care of children, I really would like to join a family for a few months so that I can learn about their Australian way of life, learn about their hobbies, learn a lot of English vocabulary and also share my hobbies with them. It will be a great experience for me to live in a new family for several months and I am sure we will get on very well since I am looking forward to meeting them.
