Letter to the family

Hello potential families!

My name is Meghan and I am from the United States. I call the state of Oregon my home, which is a part of the "Pacific Northwest" here in America. I am a college student in my second year of studies and hope to earn my degree in June of 2023. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, I have been taking time away from school and plan to take classes again this fall. While I have this time to myself, my hope is to start fulfilling my passions again, why including nannying and travel.

Here in the US, I have been working in childcare as a nanny, babysitter, and provider for over 6 years. I have cared for the children of 15+ families who always ask me to sit again and provide me with excellent referrals. As the youngest of four children in my own family, I have always grown up with other kids around me and have developed a deep love for childcare as a result. In high school, I took 3 years of child development classes and worked part-time in a local pre-school. This has helped me learn even more about children and how they function.

In addition to nannying services, I am also an avid traveler and took my first trip abroad when I was 14 years old. I have traveled to Italy, France, Spain, The Caribbean, Mexico, Canada, and throughout the United States. When I was 16 years old, I had the amazing opportunity to spend 4 weeks living with a host family in Albacete, Spain. During my foreign exchange, I was able to further progress my Spanish-speaking skills, immerse myself in the native culture, travel around the country, and gain more confidence in living/traveling alone. It was an incredible experience that I will never forget, and since then, I have been wanting so badly to live in a Spanish-speaking country again.

I am a very flexible person, and it would be a privilege to join you as a guest in your home. In terms of my personal tendancies, I am an extremely tidy, organized, and clean individual who prefers having my own space. Cooking is one of my favorite hobbies, so I would love the opportunity to cook meals for you and your family. Additionally, I follow a "Vegan" lifestyle, which means that I do not eat any meat, dairy, or animal products (with the exception of lean fish from time to time). I take a lot of pride in living a healthy and happy lifestyle.

I feel that the valuable experience that I will bring, as well as my caring demeanor and loving spirit, would make me a great candidate as an Au Pair or nanny for your family. I hope that you will keep me in consideration and I look forward to hearing from you!
