Experience
My journey with children began in a preschool, where I had the opportunity to care for babies alongside three friends: Fátima, the classroom teacher, Maria, the assistant, and Paola, the intern. Together, we took care of 18 children, aged from 0 months to 1 year and 5 months. After this period, the children were transferred to another class. Later, I had the experience of working with children aged 2 to 6 years, a crucial phase of physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development. In this age group, it is essential to pay attention, play a lot, and offer plenty of affection.
Then, I moved to another city and started working in a school with only 7 students, where the children were between 1 and 2 years old. They were wonderful! Unfortunately, due to an unforeseen issue with my college, I had to leave that job. Once everything was resolved, I began working as a nanny for two children: Alice, who is 5 years old, and Arthur, who is 8 years old. My mornings were filled with activities. On Monday, I took Alice to dance class and Arthur to soccer. On Tuesday, I accompanied Alice to ballet class while Arthur enjoyed a free morning. On Wednesday, Alice had a day off and Arthur went to judo class. On Thursday, we repeated the routine of dance and English, with their mother taking us to the commitments. Friday was a day of rest. Every morning, I prepared breakfast, and they often helped me. On days off, we had fun playing games like tag, playdough, and slime. Arthur even thought about creating a YouTube channel and often asked me for video ideas, wanting me to be his "video maker." I spent more time with Alice, who was younger, while Arthur showed more independence, making his bed and sorting his clothes for practice. He was a bit shy and didn’t like to take photos very much.
My babysitting experience was amazing, and the family and children were always kind and caring to me. In December last year, I had to say goodbye to them, as they were moving.
I can't choose a single experience that was the best, as they were all wonderful, both in my internships and in working with the children. I am very happy to know that the parents and children I cared for appreciated my efforts and the love I gave them.
