Letter to the family

Hello, my name is Regan! I currently live in Mississippi, U.S.A., and hold American and Canadian citizenship. I will be graduating from university in May with a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science, and I am interested in working as an Au Pair or Nanny after graduation. I would like to work as an Au Pair or Nanny due to my love of children and the experience I have in this area. I have always enjoyed spending time with kids, and make great friends with the children and families I work for! I am a very organized yet flexible person, and this comes across in my work ethic. I am attentive and a rule-follower, but I know how to have fun! I make a great candidate to host because I love working with children and have a very caring personality. I am also very willing to help in any way I can, such as cleaning, cooking, shopping, studying, and more. I qualify for this position due to my past experience and many hours worked as a nanny and babysitter, and the many summers I have worked at a children's summer camp! It is my intention to care for your child(ren) the same way you care for your child(ren), and to establish a meaningful relationship with them in order to best do my job!

Experience

While I have not worked as an Au Pair before, I do have experience in nannying, babysitting, and general child-care. I have previously worked as a nanny for a family with a one-year-old. I worked 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M., Monday through Friday, and was the primary and single caretaker during these hours. I acted in the child's best interests, and followed a routine that involved feeding times, sleep schedules, daily walks, and more. I also have experience with older children, as I have long been a babysitter for families with children ages 3-10. Working at a children's summer camp for several years has also given me experience with children ages 9-13. I have found that I am easily able to bond with children of all ages, but also realize that each child is different and may take more time to warm up to new situations, such as a new Au Pair or Nanny. I would like to become an Au Pair or Nanny abroad due to my experience in child-care and my love of other cultures. I have lived abroad in France for several months, and have experience traveling in twelve countries. This being said, I also enjoy the idea of contributing to another family's routine and gaining experience from the time I spend with them. I am confident that I would be a positive, engaging, and responsible role model for any child(ren), and I am looking forward to the chance to provide this!
