Letter to the family

My name is Aleixandra, I am 41 years old and I live in Valencia alone. My mother's name is Maria Jose and my father's name is Joaquin and he was a teacher in Valencia. I have got a sister name Maria Jose and i have got a brothers names Marcos y Joaquin. She is 50 years old, Joaquin is 51 years old and Marcos is 46 years old. We are a very close, sociable and communicative family. My family is so large and I love it. My mother has two sisters and three brothers, and my father has one brother, so I have many uncles, aunts, cousins and little nephews. I love children and I am the little one so, I have always been taking care of my nephews when my brothers were at work, preparing food for them, helping them with summer homework, playing and doing crafts together, or going to the pool. I have been always surrounded children!

When I finished fashion design and dental hygienist, I decided to study dentistry in Valencia, Spain. For me, one of the most difficult situations in my life was taking care of my parents when they fell ill with cancer, that made me mature, be very responsible and value life. I love working with children because they know how to get the best out of me, they bring joy and I try to teach them to do their best. It is a very rewarding job and they have a whole future ahead of them.

When I was studying fashion design, I got an Erasmus scholarship in Hannover, Germany, I learned to communicate in German, I adapted to the rules and I got to know their country and culture. My family and friends say that I am a very motherly, responsible and loving person, also, I love children, so this year I decided to fulfill my dream of being an au pair in Ireland. They support my decision and are very happy for me. I am delighted to have the opportunity to improve my English, learn about your lifestyle, your habits and your country, which I admire very much. And what better way than doing what I love! I love spending time with children and learning everything they can teach me every day. They learn a lot from us, but we learn more from them than we think. For me, it is wonderful to see them grow with us and learn, little by little, to be more independent.

I have experience in caring for children from six months to thirteen years, girls and boys too. In 2014 I took care of the son of a friend of my sister, who was eight years old. The experience was great. I used to read him the stories that he liked, so that he would fall asleep, he was a very good boy.
Then I took care of my nephews whenever they needed me, making them food, playing board games, going to the pool or watching movies, they are very good children.
On the other hand, I liked the experience when there is a month-old baby and I feed him, entertain him with toys or sing to him to help him sleep.

In addition to childcare experience, I also love reading books and newspapers every day when I have free time, listening to the radio and watching movies, traveling and learning about other cultures and ways of life, meeting new people, talking and sharing experiences, going out with friends or preparing lunch or dinner with my family or with my friends as well. I like to eat healthy, cook, and try new flavors, but with it, I love making butter or chocolate cakes and pancakes, cheesecakes, and fruit smoothies. I find it very entertaining to teach children to prepare fun desserts and smoothies.
I am very excited about the opportunity to get to know you better and be a member of your family. I hope you had fun reading my letter and knowing a little more about me and my dream.
I look forward to hearing from you!

Best wishes,

Sandra
