Hi my future host family! I’m Riina from Vantaa, Finland, and I’m a 19-year-old girl searching for a host family! This would be my first time as an au pair, so I couldn’t be more excited for this new opportunity.?

I'm just finishing up high school (I will graduate in May) and I just quit my sport, synchronized skating, so I'm now more than ready for a new adventure in life! My dream has always been to move to another country and work there. As an au pair, I could combine my two passions, traveling and working with kids!

My positive and energetic personality along with my working experience with children would make me a great au pair. I adapt to changes very well, so I believe that I would blend into your family in no time! My goal is to make your family's life easier and be a positive addition to the family. I'm a quite flexible person and I believe that communication is always key in every situation.

My experience with kids comes mostly from working as a substitute teacher in a Finnish elementary school, where I teach kids from 7 to 14-years. This has provided me with a lot of experience on how to handle children in a rather chaotic environment and how to be an adult, whom the children can rely on at any time.

In addition to this, I coach 3 to 7-year-olds in skating. I love passing on my knowledge in skating to kids, since I believe that the ability to skate is such an amazing and helpful skill. This work includes holding kids' hands while they get used to the feeling of ice and helping them up when they fall. For the more advanced and older kids, I get to show them my own skills, which they can try and imitate!

Finally, I have watched and helped my little brother grow, which has given me the most experience out of all! There's no better experience than seeing a child grow in the same household. I've gotten to change diapers and come up with silly games since I was 10!
