Letter to the family

My name is Kateřina, I am 25 years old, and I come from the Czech Republic. I work as a primary school teacher and I am now seeking a new experience as an au pair. Since primary school teachers in the Czech Republic have a two-month summer holiday, I would love to make the most of this time by doing something meaningful—and I believe that spending it abroad as an au pair is the perfect opportunity.
Currently, I teach fourth grade (children aged 10–11), covering a range of subjects including Czech language, Mathematics, History, Geography, and Physical Education. I also teach Art to ninth-grade students. Before becoming a primary school teacher, I worked as a guide in a Montessori kindergarten, where I cared for children between the ages of 1 and 6. Thanks to these experiences, I feel confident working with children of various ages and supporting their needs in a kind, patient, and creative way. As part of my professional training, I have also completed a first-aid course.

Experience

Although I have not yet worked as an au pair, I have experience with children through my work as a teacher and my previous role in a Montessori kindergarten. I am used to supporting children with different personalities and needs, planning activities, helping with routines, and creating a safe and encouraging environment.

I would love to become an au pair abroad because I want to experience life in another country from a more personal perspective. Living with a host family and caring for their children seems to me one of the most meaningful and authentic ways to connect with another culture. I’m also looking forward to improving my language skills and growing both personally and professionally through this experience.

I believe I can be a great support for your family—not only thanks to my experience, but also because I truly enjoy spending time with children and helping them discover the world around them.
