Letter to the family
My name is Gaia, I'm Italian, and I live in Verona. :) I'm a native Italian speaker, but I also speak English and Spanish, which I studied at school.
Although I've never worked formally, I did an internship at a daycare center, which allowed me to gain experience with children. I'm eager to delve deeper into Spanish culture, which has always fascinated me, and improve my Spanish. I also want to step out of my comfort zone, live new experiences, and meet people from different cultures.
I think being an au pair could be the perfect opportunity to achieve all of this!
I'm currently in my fourth year of high school, studying social and health care. I did a one-month internship at a nursery school and will soon do another one at a center for people with disabilities. I've also volunteered at another institution for people with disabilities.
As I mentioned before, I completed a one-month internship at a preschool, where I interacted directly with children, playing with them and helping them with their daily activities. During this experience, I was able to develop skills in managing small groups and assisting children in their daily routines. I want to step out of my comfort zone, experience new experiences, and grow both personally and professionally. I believe being an au pair would be an excellent opportunity to learn more about myself, experience a new culture, improve my language skills, and develop new friendships. I'm excited about the possibility of living in another country and learning from the experience of caring for and living with children. I can be shy at first, but once I feel comfortable, I won't be. I'm very responsible and organized. I'm also a cheerful person and like to joke around, so I always try to create a positive and fun environment. I'm also flexible and adapt easily to different situations. I love being creative and inventing new activities so the kids can have fun and learn at the same time.
I love cooking and experimenting in the kitchen; I'm always trying new recipes. At the same time, while I enjoy staying home watching Netflix series with a hot cup of tea (especially Spanish-language series, because I love the language), I also like going for walks and exercising. I practice kickboxing (but don't worry, I'm more peaceful than I look!) and I also do functional training.
I also love reading, although I don't always have much time for it. And sometimes I take a trip down memory lane by watching cartoons while coloring to relieve stress... it's my way of unwinding!
