Dear Host Family,

My name is Alice, and I am 21 years old. I come from Kenya and currently live in Austria, where I am working as an Au Pair. I am writing to express my interest in joining your family as an Au Pair, as I believe I can bring joy, support, and care to your household.

I have always been passionate about working with children, and my current Au Pair experience has given me the opportunity to nurture and guide them in their daily lives. I take care of children aged 2 and 7, assisting with activities such as homework, creative play, and light household chores. My goal is to create a warm, fun, and structured environment for the kids while respecting the family’s routines and values.

One of my strongest qualities is adaptability. Moving to Austria and adjusting to a new culture has taught me the importance of understanding and embracing different ways of life. A little more about me: I am fluent in English and currently improving my German, with the goal of reaching C1 level soon. I enjoy staying active, and one of my favorite hobbies is playing badminton. Experience

During my 7 months as an Au Pair in Austria, I had the opportunity to care for two wonderful children, aged 2 and 7. My responsibilities included creating a nurturing and structured environment for the children, assisting with their daily routines, and engaging them in fun, age-appropriate activities. For the 2-year-old, I focused on play-based learning, fostering curiosity, and supporting early developmental milestones. With the 7-year-old, I helped with homework, encouraged creativity through crafts and storytelling, and engaged in outdoor activities to keep them active and happy.

In addition to childcare, I supported the family by taking on light household duties such as tidying up after the children, organizing their toys, and occasionally preparing simple meals for them.

This experience has taught me valuable lessons in patience, communication, and adaptability. It also allowed me to immerse myself in a new culture, learning from my host family while sharing my own traditions and values. Being an Au Pair has strengthened my sense of responsibility and my ability to create meaningful connections with children and their families.

I truly cherish the relationships I have built during this time and am excited to bring the skills and insights I’ve gained to my next host family.
