Hello, let me introduce myself Laurence, I am 20 years old and I am currently studying special education so that I can be a mental health worker. I am from Quebec of Polish origin. To make my story short, I experienced a tragedy on March 11, 2024. My brother decided to end his life with no response. I have always been a person who wanted to help others and create change in their lives. But I always put it off because I think I see time to live but we don't know what tomorrow brings. I spend my time saying that I want to travel, to create changes in their lives, to learn the culture and values of other people in order to personally enrich myself.

I am a positive, jovial, altruistic, empathetic, energetic, stressed person, creative. I don't like doing nothing, I have to be busy otherwise I'm going around in circles. I still have my childish heart. I love playing barbie like going to play knight in the forest. I prioritize outdoor activities because I find that there is some good behind it all.

I don't like the question of why me and not someone else because I think everyone has a chance. For me there must be an instant connection with the family otherwise I don't think it can work well. I think I'm very easy to get along with. I worked in a daycare with all age groups as well as a day camp facilitator for children aged 5 to 12 for 6 summers.

I want to become an au pair because I want to travel but make some kind of change in the lives of others. Of course I want to travel for pleasure too, but I want there to be a meaning behind it all. I love children, having not had the chance to have younger ones myself, I only knew one big brother. I don't just want to be there nanny, I want to create a bond with the family so that they remember my time with their nest.
