Dear future host family,

My name is Claudia, and I am an 18-year-old from New Zealand with a passion for childcare and cultural exchange. I am excited about the opportunity to become an Au Pair and nanny in Germany, as I believe this experience will enrich my life and allow me to contribute positively to your family.

I have always loved working with children, whether through babysitting, volunteering at local community centers, or participating in school activities. Being an Au Pair offers me the chance to immerse myself in a new culture while providing care and support to your children. I am eager to share my own culture with them and learn about theirs in return.

I believe you should host me because I am responsible, caring, and reliable. I am committed to creating a safe and nurturing environment for your children while also encouraging their curiosity and creativity. I understand the importance of communication and adaptability, which I consider essential traits for any Au Pair.

I qualify for this position through my experience with children and my genuine love for helping them grow and learn. I have completed first aid training, and the role of being the eldest sister to 3 younger siblings, which has equipped me with skills in childcare and first aid. Additionally, my ability to speak English fluently and with A2 German language skills, allows me to assist your children with their language development.

Experience

I have plenty of experience in a variety of areas but most importantly, childcare. I have 3 younger siblings who are the biggest blessing in my life. They have not only taught me responsibility, but also empathy. My family had a traumatic event happen which forced me to step up and look after my 3 siblings as if they were my own. I got them ready for school/kindergarten, ensured they had a good lunch for the day but most importantly, I made sure I kept them happy. As I’ve gotten older this almost motherly bond and role I have between myself and my siblings has gotten stronger and has played a massive role in my maturity, reliability and organisation. I know that these qualities will spill over into the care of your children too.
I have work experience in hospitality, retail and services. I have worked in cafes, dry cleaners, a sauna retreat and many more. I also have an Air B&B cleaner job as a side hustle. I absolutely love to work and to be busy. I love new experiences and learning new skills.
I want to become an Au Pair and nanny in Hamburg, Germany especially because I have a deep passion for working with children and believe this experience will greatly enrich my life. Immersing myself in a new culture while providing care and support to your family excites me. I look forward to sharing my New Zealand heritage with your children and learning about German culture in return. This opportunity will not only allow me to foster the growth and creativity of your kids but also help me develop invaluable life skills and create lasting memories. I also look to live in Germany full-time so becoming an Au Pair will be a meaningful and large step toward starting my own life there.
