Letter to the family

Hello, my name is Sonia. I’m a 24-year-old from the north of Spain (my region is called Asturias, we have some Celtic culture, haha). On 1st October, I’ll be starting work as a part-time Spanish teacher at King Edward's School in Birmingham. I have my contract, visa, and everything in order, but I’ve found it impossible to find a place to stay. To my surprise, no one is responding to me, or I’m being rejected because of my nationality. Therefore, given that my part-time job allows me plenty of free time, and that I love children and integrating into the communities I visit, I think it would be fantastic to live with your family. I would dedicate all my available time to your needs while balancing it with my small role as a Spanish language assistant.

I want to be an au pair because it’s a great way to integrate into society and enjoy time in good company. I believe that emigrating alone to another country can be a lonely and sad experience. I think we could live together in harmony, benefiting both sides.
