Dear host family, my name is Carla. I'm 21 years old and I live in a city in Spain. My last year was high school, and immediately after, I started working as a dance teacher, teaching children in preschool (ages 3-5) and primary school (ages 6-10) at a school in my city. I have worked and currently work as a dance teacher for children, this being my third consecutive year, and I couldn't be happier.
In my job, I not only teach dance but also create interactive activities. I teach them how to work in groups or individually. However, I also adapt their ideas to the activities carried out in class to enhance their learning while having fun. When they have a lot of energy, I teach them how to relax by focusing it on the dance aspect, while other times I give them more intense exercises so they can unleash all their energy.
Halfway through and at the end of the school year, they present a dance to their families so they can see all the progress they've made and what they've learned in this area.
Working with children is a challenge, but it's a very enriching learning experience, and that's why I'd like to further enhance the experience as an au pair, exploring another country and delving into another culture. I consider myself an active person; I enjoy sports, walking, sightseeing, and more. Besides being quite responsible, I'm patient in any situation and have a knack for solving problems easily.
Although my favorite hobby is dancing, I also really enjoy relaxing days, lying down, relaxing, or simply listening to music.
When my time as an au pair is over, I'm sure I'll repeat the experience. I haven't yet planned any plans, but I would like to study a degree in business administration while continuing to train in the world of dance and, of course, continue teaching it to the children.
