Letter to the family

My name is Shineme. Born on May 18th, 1998, I was the third of five siblings in Mambanda,
Bonaberi Douala. My father was a machinist, while my mother juggled being a caregiver, cook, and
housewife. My hometown is known for its tight-knit communities where families eat, dine, and play
together in the rain, creating fond childhood memories that stick with me to this day.
At the young age of 10, I moved in with my aunt to care for her young children while she worked.
Over time, I became more than just their caregiver; I was their companion and confidante.
My experience with children has been nothing short of delightful. Their innocence, joyful giggles,
playfulness, and unconditional love never cease to warm my heart. Witnessing the purity of their
emotions is a treasure that I cherish.
I watched over my little cousins with love, their ages only 3 years and 5 months when I arrived. As they
grew, so did our bond. I fondly remember our special moments, such as the times I would hold the baby
close to my chest as we fell asleep, or the adorable hugs they would shower me with each time I came
home.
As I continued my education, earning a BSc in Sociology and Anthropology and MSc in Public Health, my
commitment to helping others grew stronger, especially to my community and the children who are so
dear to my heart.
I believe my experiences have shaped me into the perfect candidate for this caregiver position. My
empathy, patience, and dedication to the wellbeing of children are the hallmarks of my character.
My hobbies, such as gardening, cooking, cleaning, and outdoor activities, align with the skills needed for
caregiving. I'm particularly fond of road trips and beach days, as they bring joy and adventure.
I am confident in my ability to become a beloved and trusted caregiver for your family, bringing the same

As an au pair and nanny, I have gained experience in childcare and supporting families. I love working with children and helping them learn and grow.
