My name is Khadijah.
I am 25 years old, and I come from Switzerland. I am currently living and working in the United States as an Au Pair. I have been for the last 3 years. I have always had a deep passion for working with children, learning about new cultures, and broadening my global perspective. Becoming an Au Pair has offered the perfect opportunity to combine all these interests in a meaningful and fulfilling way.
I am eager to become an Au Pair in Australia because I genuinely enjoy spending time with children and being part of their growth and development. I see this experience not only as a chance to support your family but also to become a part of your everyday life—sharing traditions, creating new memories, and building a genuine bond. I believe this journey will allow me to explore a new part of the world that has yet been hidden to me. I am also hoping to gain a cultural understanding, which I think is essential for my personal and professional development.

I am confident that I qualify for the position because of my previous experience caring for children of different ages, both in a daycare / preschool environment and as an Au Pair. Before that I started babysitting in my early teens. I have a patient and attentive nature, and I always strive to create engaging and educational activities tailored to each child’s interests and needs. Additionally, I am organized, punctual, and willing to take on responsibilities that help your household run smoothly.

Experience

I have been working as a full-time Au Pair in the United States for the past three years with the same host family. From the beginning, we formed a close professional and familial bond, which is why I stayed with them throughout my time here. This experience has been incredibly rewarding and has allowed me to grow both as a caregiver and as an individual.

During these years, I’ve taken care of children through various stages of development—from early childhood to school age. I’ve supported them with daily routines, schoolwork, extracurricular activities, and emotional growth. Being deeply involved in their lives and watching them grow has been one of the most fulfilling parts of my journey. I’ve also developed strong communication skills with my current host parents(who at this point feel like my actual parents), ensuring we worked together as a team to provide consistency and structure for the children.

Now, I would love the opportunity to become an Au Pair abroad again, this time in a new country, to continue learning from different cultures and to experience life from another perspective. I find it incredibly meaningful to be part of a family’s daily life in a new environment, and I look forward to building new bonds while contributing my experience, care, and enthusiasm.
