Welcome Letter to the Au Pair

My husband and I are looking for an outgoing young lady to teach our 2.5-year-old daughter English. We hope you love children and your mother tongue is English.

The city I live in (DeYang) is very close to Chengdu, which is the hometown of pandas and also a famous tourist city in China.If you are willing, we can often take child to visit surrounding cities.

During your break, you can go to the gym at the entrance of the community, and there is a swimming pool in summer. You can also go shopping at the large shopping mall nearby, which is about 5 minutes' drive from our house. If you want to go to Chengdu, the largest city in Southwest of China, you can take a train, which takes only 24 minutes at the fastest. Or we can also drive for an hour.

You can treat me as your sister, and if you have any places you want to go, things you want to eat, or anything unhappy, you can seek my help. I am looking forward to being a host family for the first time, and I am confident that we can get along well.

Job Description

The working hours in the morning are 3.5 hours, from 8:30 to 12:00, and accompanying her from 1:30 to 3:00 in the afternoon, for a total of 5 hours per day. There is about 1.5 hours of lunch time at noon. I don't cook, we go to my in-laws' house for lunch every day. Their house is very close to ours. If you like, you are welcome to come with us, or you can eat at home by yourself.
I hope we can strictly follow the morning schedule, while the afternoon schedule is relatively flexible. If you have other plans, please let me know in advance so we can discuss.

When you are free on your rest days, I hope you can come to our house for one hour, mainly to help her develop the habit of speaking English every day. Of course, if you have other arrangements, that's completely fine, after all, that's your rest time.
My daughter has a fondness for rabbits and Peppa Pig. She particularly enjoys watching others draw, especially when accompanied by storytelling. Most of her time at home is spent on reading books, playing with Peppa toys, listening to music, sliding on the slide, or going outdoors and running around. I kindly request that you make an effort to refrain from using your phone during working hours and also prevent her from watching your phone or TV.

There are two ways to obtain the visa. If you are inclined to attend a language school to study Chinese, I will take care of the tuition fees. You will have classes in Chengdu twice a week. Alternatively, if you choose not to, we can assist you in applying for a Tourist Visa. When the 90-day visa is nearing expiration, we can travel to nearby countries like Thailand. Subsequently, you can re-enter China and stay for another 90 days (you will need to renew the visa every 90 days). I will cover the costs of the visa and the travel expenses.

Concerning the weekly salary, my anticipated rate is $200 per month. Additionally, I will provide for your basic necessities, such as purchasing breakfast and dinner. Or, if you prefer to buy and cook for yourself, I can offer you $400 per month. I will also bear the tuition fees for the language school, the visa fees, and your airfare to China. If you can work as an au pair in my home for over 12 months, I will also pay for your return airfare.

Accommodation

We have a vacant room in our apartment. If you prefer a private space, it's entirely feasible. My parents' apartment is in the adjacent building, one minute's walk away. They visit only two to three times a year during the holidays.

We are not good at cooking, but our kitchen is well appointed, including a steamer, oven, microwave, and dishwasher. If you like to cook, feel free to use the kitchen. If you like music, we have an electronic piano and a guitar that you can also use freely.
