Welcome Letter to the Au Pair

Hello dear future AuPair,
We are the Thenen family. Hannah (mom), Christian (dad), Jacob (big brother) and Lea (little sister).
We live in Herzogenrath in Germany, which is a "small" town with around 50,000 inhabitants on the German-Dutch border.
The bus to Aachen (approx. 250,000 inhabitants) leaves right in front of our door and takes about half an hour to get to the city center of Aachen.
The Herzogenrath train station is a 15-minute walk from us and offers connections to Düsseldorf (650,000 inhabitants) and Cologne (1,100,000 inhabitants). The two cities can be reached by train within 1.5 hours.
Our house with its garden offers more than enough space for our family and you as an AuPair. You have your own room facing the garden from which you have a wonderful view of the garden and the meadows and fields behind the house. (You can see the view from your window in the photo of our garden.)
We look forward to welcoming you into our family.
Best regards
family

Job Description

Our future AuPair must care about the well-being of our children.
Since our children have to communicate with you or you have to communicate with our children, German at a language level of A2 is an absolute must. Of course, we would prefer a better command of the language, but we can do that together if there is a certain basis.
The main task is to look after our children in the afternoon.
You have to pick up the children from daycare by car at 4:00 p.m. at the latest during the week (driver's license is required, car is of course provided) and look after them at home until Hannah comes home at around 6:00 p.m.
A working week of 4-5 hours is planned. Or a weekly working time of 20-25 hours.
You can use the morning hours and early afternoon to explore the area, get to know the country and its people, improve your language skills or simply to sleep in.
The weekends are at your leisure. Of course, you are welcome to take part in family activities such as visits to the zoo, swimming pools, canoe tours, bike tours or similar, but you don't have to feel obligated to do anything here.
As long as they are not being used by the family, e-bikes are available to you, so you can do sports and cover longer distances if you want.

Accommodation

Unfortunately we cannot provide you with your own bathroom, but we can provide you with a very spacious shared bathroom with a bathtub and shower right next to your room.
Your room faces the garden on the second floor and has a beautiful view of the countryside. On the same floor there is the master bedroom and an office/study.
The first floor with exit to the garden can be described as the communal level; this is where the large living and dining room as well as the kitchen are located; you can of course use these rooms.
Our children live under the roof on the third floor.
Of course, our WIFI is available to you.
You are welcome to use the washing machine and dryer.
There is currently a raised bed in the garden and more are planned.
Here we grow vegetables on a small scale. We also planted a total of 4 fruit trees in the garden. The plums and apples are already bearing fruit. The cherry and apricot are still a long time coming.
You are welcome to use our garden to relax and if you want, you are also welcome to help design it
