Welcome Letter to the Au Pair

Dear Au Pair
We have decided to find an au pair because we need help looking after our children and with some housework after the kids. We are looking for an au pair to be a big sister to our children and to become another member of our family. I have tried to include everything I can here to explain our family and life. Please ask us questions.

We have 4 children ages 11 months, age 3, age 8 and age 9. We have a busy fun crazy house and love it. My husband and I both work full time. We have selected an Aupair agency to use so you as the aupair would be working with our agency for your visa and the program.

We love Disney and own at Disney Vacation Club and Hilton Grand Vacations. We love all things Disney and hope you do too as it’s a big part of our family. I go as often as we can. We have a trip planned for a Disney Cruise in October 2016 and Disney World in January.
We will require you to work five days a week and you will have weekends off except for the rare change of plans. We work hard to have a set schedule but life does happen and of course I could get home late but I always call and work to fix it.

Yours sincerely
Family

Job Description

My husband is up at 5:15AM to handle their medications and breakfast. I come down around 6:20AM to help get everyone moving. Your day usually begins around 6:30 to 7am (this depends on the aupair and how much you want to help get everyone moving) and ends around 4PM. You may be off Friday or Monday morning to accommodate the 45 hour week but we can talk about that.
We do expect that you will clean up after the children and laundry and support the household in keeping the house clean with us. There are 7 of us so that is always a chore to keep the house moving. We also would like you help with dinners if you can cook. I often make crockpot meals for the month and they need to be started so simple. If you love to cook feel free as I do not win awards for my cooking. You will have weekends free and we will pay you every week. The plan for now is for one of your vacation weeks to be May 30th to June 3rd.
Our city is 20 miles outside Cleveland and there are other au pairs close by. There is also a good language school and we will encourage you to go for lessons there to learn English. In the city of Avon there is shopping, a mall, parks, community pool, YMCA, We are not in an area where you will find night clubs and parties .Its a very family oriented area. This is a great suburb with lots around.
You will have your own bedroom and share the bathroom with Evan but don’t worry he is only 2 and does not use it or you can share one with Julie. Brian and I have our own bathroom.
We have 2 dogs Molly and Haley (lab and Westie) and we do not smoke. Smoking is a big no in our family.
We need an au pair to start with us soon and stay until at least the year and hopefully 2 years. We will need you to drive our second car a minivan and we shall arrange some driving lessons for you when you arrive if you need them. We do have bad winters and lots of snow although this year was great I think we have had 30 cm so far. The driving will be in medium traffic we do have free ways. Being a good driver is important since you will have our precious family. We are very stringent about no texting or cell phone use while driving. This is very important to us as you will have our children texting or cell phone use can wait. You may use this car for taking the children to school, doctors appointments, going to your classes and for your private use within reason.

We are a fun young family looking for a kind hearted fun au pair to mix in with our family. We are looking for an aupair who wants to be a part of our family. If you are interested and would consider being our au pair please contact us.

In a very general way, of course, "high functioning autism" means "a person with relatively mild symptoms which, despite their mildness, are significant enough to merit an autism spectrum diagnosis." Add to this the fact that many people with autism may be bright, accomplished, and yet have symptoms that impact their daily functioning.

Here is a little about Autsim.

High functioning Autism describes a person of normal or greater intelligence and age appropriate language skills with social and communication challenges.
But what does a person with Level 1 Autism Spectrum Disorder look like The answer is as diverse as the people who have the diagnosis. For example:
• They can use age-appropriate language, read, write, do math, show affection, complete daily tasks but can't hold eye contact, maintain a conversation, engage in play,or pick up on social cues They are very smart and bright
• They have relatively mild speech and social delays, but have sensory issues which make it hard for them to take part in an inclusive academic program.
• They may have anxiety, learning disabilities, and sensory challenges -- but have age-appropriate speech and extraordinary abilities in music, math, science, and engineering.
