Welcome Letter to the Au Pair

Hello,
We are a British family seeking a young adult to support us in caring for our children and home. We have 2 boys who by next summer will be 10 and 8 years old.

We are looking for a calm, kind person who will support us in our busy lives and be able to enjoy the cultural benefits from living in London!

Job Description

The role is for 25 hours per week, Sunday- Thursday to support two working parents.

You will have Friday and Saturday free and can usually have mornings free for visiting, site seeing or classes, so long as you are back by early afternoon for school pick up.

In school term time you will pick up one child from a local school (10-15mins walk) at 3pm and then our oldest will be dropped off by bus to our house at approx 4pm. You will be with the children/doing household tasks from 3pm-6pm Monday to Thursday. You will also do 2 evenings of babysitting per week. Approx 7pm-10.30pm
Then on Sundays up to 5 hours per week, planned monthly in advance.

In school holidays we will discuss with you how best to spread the 25hours per week.

We ask that you prepare simple meals and snacks for the kids, general light cleaning such as wiping surfaces and hoovering, will load and unload the dishwasher twice a day, put clothes in to wash/tumble dry and will enjoy hanging out with our kids playing video games, board games and chatting.

One of our children has special needs. He is chatty, loves Pokémon, Minecraft and playing super Mario and loves to talk about his interests but needs a caring, patient approach. He finds changes in routine upsetting so a reliable person is essential.

We have a 4 bedroom home in London. There is free WiFi provided, own room provided (shared family bathroom), house is very close to bus stop, 15mins walk to tube station. Please note we are strictly non smoking and have a cat!
