Welcome Letter to the Au Pair

In the middle of the Alta Garrotxa Nature Reserve, in the Catalan Pyrenees, lies the Les Gavatxes farmhouse. With 56 hectares of forests, meadows, and rivers, this beautiful estate is home to the Kshanti Project, our Meditation and Retreat Center.

Coming here is a unique opportunity to connect with nature and its rhythms, escape worldly distractions, breathe fresh air, and experience community life.

Our main mission is to foster a space where people can rest, grow, and transform through mindful practices such as meditation, yoga, qigong, and reconnecting with nature.

We need help with our 2-year-old son, Alan, while we are working on tasks for the project. Alan is very sociable and loves adventures in the forest and do creative work. We also need help with the organic garden and preparing the apartments and cabins for guests who come for retreats.

Job Description

The candidate we are looking for must be willing to help out for about 4 hours a day, 5 days a week. At least 2 of those hours would be dedicated to the care of the child, and 1 or 2 hours would be dedicated to other household or gardening tasks.

We do not provide a salary, as we view the deal as a mutual and enriching exchange.

The person will have €100 per month to buy food, and she/he will have the opportunity to go to town once a week. We will provide one main meal a day during the days the person is working.

The atmosphere is peaceful, with only a few community members and those who come for retreats.

Our house is located 5 km from Beget, a beautiful medieval village with a population of 20.

It is important to know that we are in a remote location accessible only by car. Preferably, the person who comes here should have a car, on the contrary, it is also fine if you come without car but you like being in nature and in a quiet environment without distractions for a while.

We also provide one meal a day on the days the Au Pair is working, with the option to eat vegetables from the garden.
