Welcome Letter to the Au Pair

Dear future Au Pair and new family member,

We hope this letter finds you well! We're the -Hoffmann family, residing in the delightful Kladow suburb near Lake Wannsee in Berlin. We are Alex and Tanja, and our twin sons, Lukas and Jonas, are the heart of our home. As we look forward to welcoming our next Au Pair, we can't wait to share the love and joy of our family with you.

Our Beautiful Home and Surroundings
Our home is in a peaceful suburb of Berlin, balancing the tranquility of a village with access to Berlin's vibrant culture. Surrounded by nature, it's a haven for outdoor activities like walking, hiking, and biking. Despite being a part of Berlin, our area retains a quaint, small-town feel, with essentials nearby. The city center, rich with cultural experiences, is just a short journey away.

Your New Home with Us
You'll have a private, cozy apartment on the third floor. It includes a main room, a small kitchen, and a bathroom. Previous Au Pairs loved this space, often joining us for meals and family time. We encourage you to personalize this space while being an integral part of our family life.

Life with the -Hoffmanns
Lukas and Jonas are energetic, curious, and love skiing. They're excited about having a new big brother or sister. We value family activities, be it enjoying our garden, bike rides, swimming, barbecues, making pizzas, or movie nights.

Our Expectations and Your Role
The heart of our family is the time spent together, especially with the kids. We seek someone who truly enjoys engaging with children, is creative with activities, and eager to be a part of our family's adventures. While there will be opportunities to travel and experience new cultures, our primary expectation is your enthusiastic involvement in the boys' lives.

Support and Warmth
We offer fair pocket money, health insurance, and contribute towards language courses. It's not just about the role; it's about being a valued family member, sharing in our joys, challenges, and daily life.

We hope this gives you a glimpse into life with us. We're excited about this journey and eagerly await welcoming you to our home and hearts. Feel free to reach out with any questions about us and the Au Pair experience.

Warm regards,

Tanja, Alex, Lukas, and Jonas

P.S.: What Our Previous Au Pairs Say

Ashley: "I was basically adopted. They treat you like you were a part of the family. You feel the same love, care, and attentiveness. Now, nearly five years later, with my own daughter, they still welcome me at their home. It's an honor to watch Lukas and Jonas grow up to be such fine, funny, and great boys who care and get along with my daughter as well. Being with Alex, Tanja, Lukas, and Jonas were honestly some of the best years of my life".

Diego: "1) I love the fact that you made and make me feel like a family member. I was never left behind and you supported me with all I wanted and needed. I don’t feel like I'm away from home because for me, you guys are home. 2) I appreciate how respectful the home environment is. Jonas and Lukas always respected me as an authority, and this still holds true. 3) I appreciate the unity in the /Hoffmann family. Nowadays, there is a lack of values, but in you, people can definitely find them."

Colleen: "I am so thankful to have been an Au Pair for Lukas and Jonas. It was my first time leaving the USA, and I had never been an au pair before, but Tanja and Alex made sure I knew that I was a part of the family, even after I left Germany. Lukas and Jonas are such sweet, considerate, and smart boys, and I am so happy to have had the opportunity to know them and watch them grow!"
