Welcome Letter to the Au Pair

Dear Au Pair,

It’s nice to meet you! We are an Austrian-German family with two sweet little girls (2 and 4) and we live in Friedrichshain, in the center of Berlin.
We are looking for an Au Pair for pick up after kindergarten, getting kids ready in the morning, taking care of them when the daycare is closed, some babysitting and some light housekeeping support at home. Please read the description of the accommodation offered carefully to make sure this is a match. We had amazing au pair experiences in the past and look forward to hearing from you!

Some things that are important to us:
- significant experience with taking care of small (!) kids, super reliable. Safety is our priority.
- being proactive and independent - as our Au Pair, you would be living in your own room in our secondary apartment 150 meters down the street from our main apartment. You should be comfortable and in fact appreciate that degree of independence (eg not taking meals with our family, etc).
- either good English skills OR good German, we are happy to support you with taking language classes!

We have had great experiences with Nannies and a wonderful Au Pair before and look forward to getting to know you!

Best regards
Karoline & Dominik

Accommodation

You would have your own nicely furnished room in a recently refurbished nice apartment down the street from our family, 2 minutes walking. We use the other room in this apartment as a home office during the day, and as a guest room occasionally; so we are present daily during the day, but you will live independently, do your own grocery shopping etc. There is a kitchen for light cooking and WiFi is provided of course. We expect you to keep your room and common areas clean and tidy and take care of the apartment. Absolutely no smoking. This living arrangement means you would be having meals independently of our family and we would provide an additional stipend for that. If you are looking to be completely immersed in a family all day, this might not be the right fit for you. If you appreciate some independence, but still want to have a good connection with a fun and caring family, this might be the perfect fit :).
