Welcome Letter to the Au Pair

We call the beautiful and vibrant city of Berlin, Germany, our home, where we share our lives with our three children. Our eldest, a daughter (8 years) and together with our sons, aged 6 and 4 in summer 2025, they bring joy to our family every day.

As a family who lived in New York for over 5 years, our children speak English & German and are attending an international school/kindergarten here in Berlin. We seek a native English-speaking au-pair to become part of our family, enriching our children's lives with care & companionship and help with daily routines at home.

Job Description

Our day starts with breakfast and helping to get the kids ready and dressed for school/kindergarten. 2 Kids go to school (3-5 Min by bike) and youngest goes to kindergarten which is 10Min away, which starts usually at 9am. During the day when kids are in school/kindergarten there are sometimes some prep things to do (e.g. sorting kids things, grocery,) but it’s mostly free time. In afternoon, picking the kids up from school/kindergarten, helping with home work and play/entertain kids till joint dinner time (usually 6pm). From time to time, babysitting help in the evening would be great.

On weekends we usually don't need help, but of course welcome the aupair to join us for family activities. While we have a cleaning lady coming 4 times a week, we would appreciate aupair helping in the house when needed.

Accommodation

We have 2 apartments, one main apartment with 4 bedrooms plus an additional “friends & family” 2-room apartment (with kitchen and bathroom) for family & friends just a 3 blocks away from the main apartment (few minutes walking or by bike). Our previous aupairs preferred living in the “family & friends” apartment with one bedroom will be fully dedicated to you and most of the time you entire apartment for yourself.
