Welcome Letter to the Au Pair

My Mum and Dad live in a beautiful large home in an affluent suburb called Brighton in Melbourne, close to the beach (1-2 minute walk). My parents are kind, generous and fair.

Brighton is very close to Melbourne city (20 minute drive). Train station is walking distance from the home (about 5-10 minute walk). Local shops, cafes, clothing boutiques are also walking distance from the home.

Mum has early stage Alzheimers and Dad needs some help looking after her.

We are looking for a mature live-in carer who is compassionate, patient, positive, funny, organised and energetic.

Your wage is negotiable depending on your experience. All additional hours worked by you would be paid at an agreed hourly rate.

Mum and Dad go travelling sometimes and during those times you may enjoy time off (or come with them).

Ideally we need a commitment of at least 6 months (preferably 12-24 months)

If you have prior experience in aged care we would love to speak with you!

Job Description

Ideally 3-4 hours each morning from 8am-12pm Monday to Friday (or Saturday depending on your availability).

Mum needs daily help with:

Exercise
Brain exercises (on the computer)
Meal preparation (ketogenic)
Administration of Medication and Vitamins
Driving to appointments - medical and beauty mostly (you MUST have a current drivers licence)
Companionship - Mum loves to go for coffee every morning and she still loves shopping!
House Cleaning and Laundry

Accommodation

You would have your own private bedroom with ensuite at the front of the house, with a large walk in wardrobe. The house has a pool, which you are free to enjoy! Mum and Dad have 2 small poodles - so I hope you love dogs! Your bedroom is downstairs. Mum and Dad's bedroom is upstairs. You have a window with garden views. A single bed is in the room however if you want a larger bed, that can be arranged.
