Welcome Letter to the Au Pair

Come be our Au Pair in the outback! We're a family of four in Broken Hill, NSW, Australia. My husband is a police officer and will be away for work for most of the time during Oct 1 to December 1, so I'm looking for someone who wants to experience outback Australia to join our family and lend a helping hand during that time!

We have a crazy, funny almost-3-year-old and a super cruisy 6 month old. I work 2 days per week as a psychologist and they attend day-care on those days. We also have two very large dogs, seven chickens, and a parrot. You won't be required to care for them but it's important that you're comfortable around animals so that you can feel at home with us :)

There are lots of work opportunities in Broken Hill (childcare, hospitality) so if you're looking for extra paid work I would be happy to help you find some. Being a small town I can also introduce you to other people your age. It gets warm here- so be prepared for hot weather even if its only October!

Job Description

I care MOST about finding a great match and both of us being comfortable and happy! Hours, workdays, duties and pay are all negotiable.

We can accommodate <15 hours per week (room and board only) to 30 hours a week (~$300 weekly, more or less depending on duties and experience).

Duties may include:
- Helping with play, bed and bath most afternoons/evenings
- Some house-chores (picking up after yourself, help tidying up after kids, loading dishwasher, vacuuming etc)
- Caring for both children (at home) for 1-3 hours 2 days a week while I work-from-home
- Taking toddler OR baby on a weekly solo-outing (walks, trips to the park) so I can have some 1:1 time with the other
- Helping me take both kids on outings like to cafes, library, and the local pool

I work in my office on Wednesdays and Thursdays, and both children attend day-care those days so you will have them free.
