Jennan speaks German very well after four years in a German Kita, but now that she attends a British school, she doesn’t have any regular German exposure. We’re simply looking for someone who can play with her and speak in German, helping her maintain her language skills through natural interaction and everyday fun.
Here’s what we’re looking for:
Around 2 hours a day during the week, usually after school. Unless she has time off school then it could go up to 3 or 4 hours.
4–5 hours on Saturdays, as I work that morning
Fridays are always off, unless you’d like to join us for an outing or lunch
Activities should be light and playful – baking, drawing, role-playing, chatting – just keeping the interaction in German. There’s no pressure to teach, we just want her to keep hearing and using the language in a fun, relaxed way. You may accompany her to the playground or swimming pool or any of her play dates as a chaperone.
We’ve had three wonderful German Au Pairs before, and Jennan was able to communicate easily with them. You’re welcome to speak with them directly if you’d like references.
What we offer:

All meals included, and we shop according to your preferences. I’m always happy to buy any food along with smoothies, oats, granola etc. food is relatively cheap in egypt and yummy. Don’t ever hesitate to ask for anything related to food or drink.

Option to join us on trips, family meals, or beach getaways (we have a home in Hurghada, perfect for diving/snorkeling)
A local SIM card and phone
Use of our Uber account during your first week
A monthly allowance of €250, which we can split between euros and Egyptian pounds based on your preference. We won’t need more than 15 hours of work weekly from our Aupair.
Access to Arabic language schools, Spanish institutes like Cervantes nearby.
Kayaking on the Nile, exploring Cairo, or enjoying the vibrant culture and cafés in the nearby neighborhood Zamalek
Because Jennan has long school days during the week, we really encourage our Au Pair to have her own activity or personal schedule – whether that’s taking Arabic or English or Spanish classes, joining a local group, exploring the city, or setting personal goals for the stay. We want your time in Cairo to be enriching and enjoyable for you, too. The city has a lot to offer, and we’re happy to help you discover it!
