Welcome Letter to the Au Pair

Hello! We are a warm and welcoming family of four living in the peaceful village of Camós, Spain, which is nestled in a beautiful rural area close to the town of Banyoles. Our family includes two wonderful children: a curious and energetic 3-year-old who loves exploring and a sweet baby under one year old.
Camós is a quiet village, perfect for anyone who enjoys a nature-filled lifestyle. Banyoles is just a 10 minute bike ride (there is also a public bus that goes to Banyoles) and it offers everything you might need: supermarkets, shops, cafes, restaurants, a lake club, gyms, schools, and academies.

Bear in mind that we live in Catalunya, where Catalan is the primary language used by most people, though everyone understands and speaks Spanish. At home, we speak Catalan and English. With friends, we primarily speak Catalan, and with family, it’s a mixture of Catalan, English, and Spanish.

Job Description

We’re seeking a caring, reliable, and energetic au pair who loves spending time with young children. Since both Lina and Fèlix are still very young, experience with infants and toddlers is important to us. Ideally, you share our love for the outdoors, creative activities, and cooking. We’d love someone who can bring positive energy to our home and engage the children in fun and educational ways.

I worked as a nurse for 10 years but am now pursuing a career change. As I am currently studying, I often need help with the children during my study hours, while my husband is working. Having someone to support us during these times would be wonderful.

Your Role:

As our au pair, your main responsibilities will include:

Helping with the care of Lina and Fèlix, especially during study times. Lina goes to school, while Fèlix usually stays with me, my husband, or his grandparents.

Engaging the children in creative activities, outdoor play, and crafts.

Preparing simple meals for the children and yourself.

Light housekeeping related to the children’s activities, such as tidying up toys and dishes. Keeping your room clean and tidy.

During January, I’ll need extra help as I will be in a placement for my studies in the mornings. During this period, you’ll always have support from my mother-in-law or father (the grandparents live nearby). After January, the mornings will mostly be free for you.

Starting in February, we’ll arrange a flexible schedule, with afternoons and evenings as the main times we need support. You’ll have plenty of free time to explore and enjoy Camós, Banyoles, Girona, and any other nearby cities of interest.
