We are looking for a fluent French speaker to join our family, as Carolyn and her mother are both fluent and we would love for Luc to be immersed in French from an early age. Ian is currently learning French as well and would appreciate the chance to practice. Our preference is that French be spoken with Luc and Carolyn at home, but as being an au pair is also a cultural and language exchange, it is absolutely fine to speak English with Ian and Carolyn if preferred and especially while out and about in public.

We are seeking support during the workweek, particularly on weekdays when both parents are working outside the home. During those times, we expect that Luc will be cared for with close attention, warmth, and plenty of developmental interaction and stimulation. We also expect our au pair to handle routine tasks such as feeding, changing, and putting Luc down for naps during the day.

Since we are a biking family, we are looking for someone who is confident and comfortable riding a bike. We regularly bike Luc around Cambridge in a Bakfiets (a Dutch-style cargo bike), and we hope that our au pair will be able to do the same. While we only have one car and parking in Cambridge is quite limited, we are happy to share the car when needed and feasible.
