Welcome Letter to the Au Pair

We're a fun-loving family! Two laid-back, totally awesome parents, 4 wild and free kids and 3 furry friends, living on an epic 170-acre property in a hidden, magical mountain rainforest, 1 hour drive from Byron Bay and the Gold Coast.

We're looking for someone who's kind, responsible, and child focused to join our wild, wonderful world. Preferably, you've got early childhood training and supported larger families before. If you’re up for an unforgettable adventure filled with nature, fun, and family, we’d love to have you!

Job Description

Living Arrangements & Schedule
• Charlie & Fox stay with us 7 nights on, 7 nights off (Friday changeover) with their mother, Lauren.
• Wilder stays with us 12 nights out of 14. Every second Friday at 4 PM, he is dropped off to his father, Tim, and picked up Sunday at 4 PM. We co-parent well, and he is an important part of our lives. He will be moving to our region soon, so his living arrangements may change.
• Ayana is with us full-time. Since you’ll spend the most time with her, your strongest bond will be with Ayana, followed by Wilder, Fox, and Charlie.

Weekday Schedule:
• 8:00 AM: School drop-off (3 boys) → Back home by 8:30 AM
• 2:25 PM: School pick-up → Back home by 3:00 PM
• 4:00 PM: End of workday

Weekend Schedule:
• Generally relaxed, unless a weekday has been swapped.

Au Pair Responsibilities:
• School drop-offs & pick-ups
• Grocery shopping
• Kids’ meal preparation (both your native cuisine & learning Australian dishes)
• Caring for the children
• Tidying children’s rooms
• Laundry (children’s clothes & bedding)
• Light household duties
• Creative & educational play (no homework at Steiner schools)
• Organising & supervising outdoor activities
• Helping with bedtime routines when needed

Work Hours & Payment:
• 38 hours per week → $380 AUD/week pocket money
• Additional hours if the kids are sick or during school holidays (extra pocket money provided).
• One full weekend off per month to relax and recharge.

An Au Pair Service Agreement & Household Manual will be provided once we’ve agreed to work together.

Accommodation

We offer two options for your accommodation:
1. Private Bedroom in the Main House – This is our current au pair’s choice, providing easy access to family life.
2. Private RV Further from the Main House – A more secluded option for extra privacy.

Both options include WiFi, an infrared sauna, and all the creature comforts of home. You’ll also have access to our vehicles for work-related duties and personal use during your time off.
