Welcome Letter to the Au Pair

Hello! My daughter, Valentina (16), and I are looking forward to join us in our beautiful farm in Normandy. We have two dogs, and four cats, and a number of horses and foals that we share our lives with. Valentina rides competitively, and we're hoping for some international competitions in the year to come! We live 15 mins from Saint Lo, the capital of the Manche district, in the heart of Cerisy Forest. Valentina goes to school in the historic town of Bayeux, which is 30 mins ago.

Because of our lifestyle, with a lot of travel for work and competitions, we hope an au pair can help us mainly caring for the domestic pets (dogs and cats), and with some driving around for school pick ups and drop offs, and shopping. I work from home most days, in my remote job as a researcher for an NGO. But I travel for work once or twice a month.

So, the daily work for an au pair won't be so hard, we just want someone who can help out, who loves animals and who will enjoy the experience of country living and exploring the amazing region in which we live.

Job Description

Au pair must drive, and must be delighted to work and live with cats and dogs. Interest in horses is a plus, but no horse care is expected for work.

Generally, we are looking for someone who will walk the dogs once a day, share the pick up and drop off of Valentina at school, and help feed and care for the animals, particularly when we are travelling. Generally pitching in to help the household is also expected, as you would in any home.
