Hello and welcome

We are Laurie and Will, a married couple living in Colchester, Essex (UK), and looking for an au pair to help us look after our two children in the afternoons (3-6pm).

We live on the edge of the city centre of Colchester, a short walk from the shops and city centre (cinemas, theatres, restaurants etc.).

Job Description

We are looking for a live-in au pair (or live-out for anyone already in the area) mainly to collect the children from school at 3pm every day and look after them until 6pm when we can take back over. Then maybe a few hours at the weekend, depending on what is going on.

The daytime until 3pm, and again from 6pm onwards, is therefore free for study, part-time work or leisure.

Looking after the children usually involves collecting them from school (we are very close to school, 1 minute walk), then setting them up with some activities or homework and a snack / tea back at home. They have after school clubs on one or two days, either at the school or nearby.

The accommodation is a comfortable bedroom in the house with a choice of two shared bathrooms (there is a bathroom WC next to the room, shared with the children, and a shower room WC downstairs as well) so there is rarely much pressure on the space.
