Welcome Letter to the Au Pair

Hi there!

*Looking for our next au pair to start with us in or after September, and stay between 6-12 months (we are flexible)*

Are you looking for an exciting opportunity to live abroad, explore a new culture, and become part of a warm and supportive family? We’re looking for a kind, responsible, and fun-loving au pair to join our household and share in the joys (and occasional chaos!) of daily life with young kids.

About Us
We’re a young and easygoing family living in beautiful Collingwood, Ontario, Canada. We have two curious, energetic kids—ages 2 and 4—and a sweet, older dog who still loves a good walk. Our town is surrounded by nature, with lots of hiking, skiing, beaches, and biking trails. We're just a couple of hours north of Toronto and close to popular areas like Muskoka and Algonquin Park.

We love spending time outdoors as a family, cooking together, playing, and making space for downtime when we can. We value open communication, mutual respect, and lots of laughter.

What Your Role Would Look Like
Your days with us will be varied and interactive, and you’ll be a truly important part of our family team. Here’s what you might help with:

- Morning and after-school routines
- Playing with the kids—outside, with crafts, or make-believe
- Preparing simple meals or snacks
- Walking our friendly dog
- Helping keep common spaces tidy and pitching in with light chores (laundry, dishes, groceries)
- Occasionally helping with bedtime routines (about once a week)
We don’t expect you to do everything—we share responsibilities as a family, and we're just looking for someone happy to jump in and help where needed.

Who We’re Looking For
We’d love to welcome someone who is:

- Kind, dependable, and patient with young children
- Proactive and comfortable managing basic routines
- Excited to share their culture and learn about ours
- A confident driver (this is a big plus for daycare pickup and getting around locally)

What We Offer
- Your own comfortable, private living space within our home
- All meals plus a monthly stipend
- A flexible weekly schedule with around 34 hours of support
- Time off to explore the area, take classes, or relax
- A welcoming neighborhood (our kids’ friends have au pairs too!)
- A chance to be part of a loving, low-drama, family life in one of Canada’s most beautiful areas

We know that the au pair experience is about so much more than childcare—it’s about connection, cultural exchange, and building lifelong memories. We’re excited to make this a meaningful and positive experience for you.

If this sounds like a good fit for you, we’d love to hear from you! Please send us a bit about yourself—what brings you joy, your experience with kids, and what you’re hoping for in your time abroad.

Looking forward to meeting you soon!

Warmly,
The s
