Are you looking for an exciting opportunity to live abroad, experience a new culture, and become a valued member of a warm and welcoming family? We are seeking a responsible, caring, and enthusiastic au pair to join us and help care for our children while sharing in the excitement of daily family life and experiencing life in Canada.

About Us: 
We are a young, loving family with two children, ages 2 and 4, and a 7 year old dog. Our home is located in Collingwood, Ontario, Canada; a vibrant community with plenty to explore, including lots of outdoor activities (hiking, skiing, cycling, beaches). Collingwood is 2-3 hours North of Toronto by car or car+train/bus. Canada’s beautiful “cottage country” (the Muskokas, Algonquin Park, etc.) is also accessible by car or bus (2 hours).

Your Role: 
As our au pair, your primary responsibility will be helping to care for our children. Typical duties may include:
* Assisting with morning and after school routines.
* Getting the kids to bed (once/week).
* Preparing simple meals or snacks for the children.
* Taking the kids outdoors to play and explore.
* Helping with creative activities.
* Light household tasks such as tidying up after the children, helping with laundry, picking up groceries, tidying up the kitchen, walking the dog.

We are looking for someone who:
* Is dependable, kind, and patient.
* Has a genuine love for children and experience working with them.
* Is happy to help contribute to a well-functioning household.
* Is eager to share their culture and learn about ours.

Job Description

We are looking for someone to help us get the kids ready in the morning (2 hours/day), provide after-school care for our son (2 hours/day), occasionally pick up our daughter from daycare (requires ability to drive), help with meal prep/cooking, help with walking the dog, and help with house work (including but not limited to helping with washing & folding laundry, loading/unloading the dishwasher, vacuuming, light cleaning of the kitchen & bathrooms, preparing lunchbox). (Helping means not doing this all the time, as Spencer and I also do these activities)

On work from home days, either one or both of Ilona/Spencer are ready right at 5pm to be with the kids. Once a week, our office days overlap and therefore we will require care of the two kids in the evening (including pickup, dinner, bedtime, tidy up - 6 hours).

Total work split is approximately 24 hours/week providing childcare; 10 hours/week with other tasks eg helping with meal preparation, walking the dog, and light house work.

We try to cook homemade healthy meals as much as possible.

Accommodation

In addition to the pocket money, we will provide you full room and board.

You will have your own suite in the basement, including a bedroom and bathroom, TV, wifi. The finished basement is a bright walk-out, and otherwise includes a big play area for the kids.

We will also provide access to a vehicle (including providing the insurance for such) and shared access to our kitchen and laundry.

You are asked to cover your own cell phone/plan.
