We are looking for a mature female Au Pair.
Please only reach out to us with a serious application. Thank you!

### PLEASE FIND A LETTER FROM OUR CURRENT AU PAIR TO YOU AT THE END OF OUR PROFILE ###

Dear Future-AuPair,

We are very much looking forward to meeting you and hear about why you want to become an AuPair here in Germany, Cologne! We are a family of 4—our boys, Paul (13) and Simon (10), Julia (43) and Klaus (46). We are both medical doctors and we live in one of the best parts of the city in a beautiful house.

We are looking for our next AuPair to join us. We have had several Au Pairs from different parts of the world (USA, Australia, Canada, South Africa, Uganda). We can easily put you in contact with them for reference and they will happily give you their perspectives on us as AuPair parents, what it is like living with us and what we have to offer.

We are looking for an English- or French- speaking AuPair. You should enjoy spending time with our 10 year old boy, Simon while guiding him in the right direction. When we are not around you will make sure he does his homework, washes himself, brushes his teeth, has his bags packed and unpacked, practices his instruments. You will create and maintain a relationship with Simon.

When it comes to Paul, our 13 year old teenager, you will have to work with us to find a way with him. He is going through adolescence and this is new to us, too. We are constantly figuring out via trial and error, how to navigate this phase in the right direction and we are currently on a very positive track. Paul is smart and has a very good sense of humour so one can have fun with him.

Formal experience in child care will be favoured. Ideally you like music and enjoy being active as our boys love that, too.
We value healthy meals and you will have meals with us or the boys.

Your duties will be to be like a friend to our boys while making sure they do not do stupid things. As this will not fill up your 30h/week, tasks around the house primarily involving the boy’s needs and keeping the kitchen - the heart of our household - running will also be part of your duties. Simon and Paul need someone to turn to who likes to be part of their world when we are not around. You will need to work with us parents in a team. Also, we are very experienced with setting you up/onboarding you and guiding you in your new role as AuPair. Your pocket-money will be EUR 350 per month plus room and board (regular Au-Pair pocket money in Germany: 280€).

We believe that welcoming you as a family member with all rights and duties and not only as an employee is most important. As you are an additional adult to our family you will face adult duties and responsibilities concerning chores and errands in our household and we expect you to make sure our children keep their rooms tidy and their bags (un)packed.

Ideally you will know basic German however this is not a requirement as all of us speak English.

Looking forward to hearing from you!
Sincerely,
Julia and Klaus
