Welcome Letter to the Au Pair

Dear Au Pair,

We are so excited to welcome you to our family! We’re Al & Anki, two fun and laid-back parents with our first baby, a playful 15-month-old boy who is full of energy and curiosity. We both run our own businesses, so life is always busy, but we love to enjoy the beautiful surroundings where we live.

We are based in Dee Why, on Sydney’s Northern Beaches, just a minute’s walk from the beach. From our home, you can hear the ocean waves from the bedroom, which we find very soothing. The area is amazing with its stunning beaches, including the famous Manly Beach, and it offers plenty of cafes, restaurants, and bars along the promenade—perfect for relaxing and exploring.

If you're interested in language learning, there’s a language school just a 20-minute bus ride away, and the bus stop is right outside our house! For trips into the city, Sydney’s CBD is about 40 minutes by bus, making it easy to explore or enjoy the city life.

We are looking forward to having you join us and share in the care and joy of our little one. We hope you will feel right at home and enjoy your time with us by the beach.

Job Description

We are looking for someone who truly enjoys spending time with babies and can build a loving, playful relationship with our son. It’s important that you can follow our parenting style, which we’re happy to share with you, and help to live and model the values we want to instill in him.

You’ll be involved in fun activities that our little one loves, like swimming, attending music classes, playgroups, and going to the library for story or rhyme time. He also loves visiting playgrounds, rock pools, and baby pools, so being open to these outings is essential.

In addition to caring for our son, we’d appreciate some help with light housework—such as meal prep, cleaning up after activities, and possibly cooking. We’re very relaxed and flexible, so if you’re interested in attending language school or working a few days elsewhere, we’re happy to accommodate your schedule and provide guidance. We are also flexible with timings.

If you share a love for the outdoors, nature, and an active lifestyle, we believe you’ll thrive with us!

Accommodation

You’ll have a lovely, airy room with plenty of natural light and privacy. From the room, you can hear the calming sound of ocean waves and birds chirping. We have one bathroom and toilet (separate), but if needed, there’s also a common toilet in the building that is easily accessible and rarely used. Free Wi-Fi is also provided for your convenience.
