Welcome Letter to the Au Pair

Welcome to our family! We’re so excited to have you join us and become a part of our home.

We are a busy household with two working parents and two young kids who bring a lot of energy, laughter, and fun to our everyday life. While our schedules can be full, we deeply value family time and love spending it with our extended family, who live close by and are very involved in our lives.

During the summer, we spend as much time as possible at our vacation home on beautiful Green Lake in Green Lake, Wisconsin. It’s one of our favorite places to relax, enjoy the outdoors, and make memories together — and we look forward to sharing that experience with you too!

Our primary home is in a quiet, family-friendly suburb called Downers Grove, about 30 minutes from downtown Chicago. We’re lucky to be within walking distance to several parks and the main train line, which makes getting around easy and convenient.

We can’t wait to learn more about you, your culture, and everything you’ll bring to our family. We’re here to support you throughout your time with us, and we hope this experience will be just as rewarding for you as we know it will be for us.

Job Description

We are looking for a warm, responsible, and energetic au pair to join our family and help care for our two young children (ages 3 and 1). You’ll play a key role in our daily life, supporting us with childcare and light household duties while becoming a true part of our family.

?️ Core Responsibilities:
Provide loving, attentive care to our daughter and son

Plan age-appropriate activities, both indoors and outdoors

Supervise and engage in swimming, outdoor play, and occasional boating (strong swimmer required)

Drive the children to and from local activities as needed (valid driver’s license required)

Prepare basic meals and snacks for the children

Help with light housekeeping related to the children (cleaning up toys, wiping down high chairs, organizing kids’ spaces)

Maintain a safe, positive, and clean environment for the children

✅ Must-Have Skills & Traits:
Confident, capable swimmer

Comfortable spending time outdoors and on a boat

Valid driver’s license and driving experience

Ability to cook simple, nutritious meals for kids

Responsible, tidy, and organized

Energetic, warm, and great with young children

Takes care of her own health and hygiene

Non-smoker

Willing to travel with our family (e.g., summer trips, ski vacations, etc.)

Good communicator and team player with parents
