Welcome Letter to the Au Pair

We live in Drymen, in Scotland - it is about a 25 minute drive to Glasgow or a 30 minute drive to Stirling. Our village is set within the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park, so there are many scenic outdoor opportunities on the doorstep. We speak English at home.

Job Description

We would need someone who could work from 3-6pm on weekday afternoons. This would involve picking the children up from school at 3:15, bringing them home and supervising their afternoons. They may have after school clubs which would need a second pick-up. They may have some homework to do which would be helpful to supervise. The preparation of an evening meal for the children would be a core part of the job, the adults tend to eat separately on weekdays. We would also ask the au pair to manage the children's laundry on a day-to-day basis. The parents would cover bath time and bed time.

It would be helpful although not essential to supervise the children on 2 mornings a week from wake up to school drop off time.

The evenings and weekends would be your own time, we may occasionally ask for you to babysit so that we could go out.

If the au pair wanted to, they could get involved in caring for our 3 pet chickens, although this is mostly done by the children with support.

Accommodation

An au pair would have their own spacious double room with en suite. The home is a large home set at the edge of a village with countryside views and a large garden.
If Au Pair could provide their own vehicle that would be helpful, although arrangements may be possible for the use of a car. The same would apply for a bicycle.
The house comes equipped with wifi and other modern conveniences that might be expected.
We would not consider anyone who smoked or vaped.
