I am a single mom of a ten year old girl. We live in North Carolina, an hour from Raleigh. I am active duty military and I travel a lot for work where I need a reliable nanny to watch my 11 year old while I am gone for work. I travel a lot for work and there are times where I will be gone for a couple of weeks up to several months. My daughter is pretty independent and really doesn't need to be supervised too much. She is also attending sport activities after school and has other appointments she will need to be driven too. You would have plenty of time while she is in school to do any activities you would like but would need to be available for any school emergencies. Her school hours are from 8 am to around 3.15 pm. We have two dogs and two cats. The dogs need to be taking on a walk once a day for around 30 mins. All of them are friendly and loving. We have had several Aupairs staying with us from this website and each time it has been wonderful. All of our Aupairs have been from Germany. Disclaimer, I am a native German, I was born and raised in Germany and speak the language fluent. My daughter speaks English and a little bit of German.
You will need to get her ready in the morning and drive her to where she gets picked up by the school bus and make sure she goes on the bus. Her school is around 30 mins from here but the bus will take her and bring her back to the drop off location. Which means you would need be there as well to pick her up. While she is in school there isn't all too much to do at home, so you have plenty of time to enjoy the day. She usually comes back from school at around 4 pm, possible a little later.She has after school activities such as track, therapy, and German. Duties also include walking the dogs, getting her meals ready such as breakfast, lunch, snacks, and dinner, as well as doing laundry and cleaning after yourself. And when I am not at home (gone for work) to keep the house clean. She is very independent and cleans after herself as in loading the dishes in the dishwasher, cleaning the cat litter, cleaning her bathroom, and her room.
