Welcome Letter to the Au Pair

We are a family of 5, 3 kids ages 7,3 & 1. We live rurally and have a 8 month old large dog, a young cat and many horses. We love to be outdoors and active and are looking for someone to join our family that is good equally with animals and kids to be a good fit. You will need to be able to drive and be self motivated to enjoy living rurally as we do and must be an outdoors person.

We live about 15 minutes drive outside the lovely town of Midleton. There are regular train and bus services from Midleton to Cork city. It is quiet rural where we live, lovely and peaceful and safe with lots of forests to explore.

Job Description

We have two boys, ages 7 & 1. The eldest is in school from 9-2.45 Monday to Friday and gets the bus outside our gate. Our youngest is at home all day and takes two naps and is currently starting to move around. The girl is nearly 3 years old and goes to preschool about 10 minutes drive away from 9am-12pm.

You need to help get the kids ready for school, take the girl to preschool and collect her and mind the baby who naps for about 2 hours per day, including preparing and feeding him his meals. We would like some help preparing our evening meal but this would be a night or two a week. Your evenings and weekends would be free.

Both parents work full time and a typical day ( Monday to Friday) would start around 8.15am; helping with breakfast and getting ready for school.

You would need to drive the 3 year old to school for 9am. Returning for nap time for the 1 year old. Feeding the 1 year old upon waking. Collecting the 3 year old at 12am and returning home for snacks and a second nap around 1-2pm. We may ask you to put some food in the oven that we've prepared but don't expect full meals to be cooked everyday. Food may have to be cooked for the kids when they've days off etc.

We would like light housework also to be done throughout the day, cleaning up after the kids mostly but also hanging out clothes to dry etc.

One of the parents would arrive home around 5pm and that would be your day complete. You'd be welcome to eat with us or enjoy some of your own time. Our dog would also form part of your day as he is quiet high energy and needs attention.

You will have your own purpose built apartment that's warm and modern with kitchen/living room, WC and bedroom. You will be expected to mind the kids in our space and are welcome to share our space during the weekdays for all meals etc.
