Welcome Letter to the Au Pair
About Our Family
Hi! We’re Brianna and Jasper, a young and lively family of six. We’re both 28 years old and proud parents to four amazing children — Hunter (9), Nylah (3), Sulaiman (2), and Gabriel (11 weeks). Our household is full of energy, love, and laughter, and we’re excited about the idea of welcoming an au pair to be part of our family.
Our Children
Hunter is our eldest and attends a local primary school. He has ASD and ADHD, which means he receives extra support, including school transport services that pick him up and drop him off each day. Hunter is incredibly bright and has a big heart. He also keeps busy with extracurricular activities like softball and football — his grandmother helps him get to and from these, which we’re very grateful for.
Nylah and Sulaiman are only 11 months apart and are inseparable. If you see one, the other is never far behind! They both attend a local daycare five days a week, where they’ve made lots of friends and love being social. Gabriel, our youngest, is already showing his personality — he’s a happy baby and goes to daycare four days a week, with Wednesdays at home for some extra bonding time. All of our kids are social and love interacting with new people, which makes our home lively and full of fun.
Our Work and Interests
I (Brianna) am currently training to become a train driver. The course is intense and lasts 12 months, requiring a lot of study after work each day. My work schedule follows a rotating roster down to the minute — some days I could start as early as 3:12 am, 8:26 pm, or even 1:48 am. The unpredictability of my shifts means we need someone who’s adaptable and comfortable with a bit of chaos. Jasper is an electrician and runs his own business. Right now, he’s working on a contract in Melbourne, which means he’s away for weeks at a time. Despite our busy schedules, we both love food — whether it’s cooking together, trying new dishes, or hosting family gatherings. We’re also big sports fans, but with four kids and our work commitments, it’s hard to find time to indulge in our hobbies!
Our Pets
We have two lovable dogs, Zeus and Rocky, who are both outside dogs. They’re friendly and playful, and they’re very much part of the family.
Our Family Lifestyle
We’re a very family-oriented household. Weekends are usually spent surrounded by family — whether it’s Jasper’s side or mine — with food on the BBQ and kids running around the backyard. We love hosting events at our home, and our house is always open to friends and family.
Our Home and Your Accommodation
We live in a spacious four-bedroom house in Campbelltown. You’ll have your own private bedroom and share a bathroom with Hunter. We want you to feel at home here, and if the current setup ever feels too small, we’re open to relocating within the area to find something larger and more comfortable.
Our Suburb
Campbelltown is well-connected and convenient. We’re just five minutes from the train station and the major highway, making travel easy. While we’re not in the heart of Sydney, it’s only a 50-minute train ride to the CBD, giving you the perfect balance of suburban calm and city convenience.
Our Typical Week
Our weeks are busy but rewarding. Hunter’s extracurricular schedule keeps us on our toes, and with both of us working over 40 hours a week, life can get hectic. My mum helps out a lot with Hunter’s activities, which is a huge help. When we’re home, we make the most of family time — playing with the kids, sharing meals, and catching up on life.
What We Expect from Our Au Pair
We’re looking for someone who can be an extra set of hands, especially given my rotating 24-hour work roster. We need someone adaptable and flexible. We’d love for you to step in when we can’t be there, helping with:
- Preparing meals when I’m not home
- Dropping off and picking up the kids from daycare
- Managing bath and bedtime routines
- Light cleaning and tidying up
Since the kids are in full-time care during the day, you’ll have free time while they’re at school or daycare to explore, relax, or enjoy some downtime.
The Type of Person We're Looking For
We’d love someone warm, patient, and reliable — someone who fits naturally into our family dynamic and can handle the chaos of a busy household with a sense of humor. Flexibility is key, but more than anything, we want someone who genuinely enjoys spending time with kids and becoming part of our family. Life with four kids can be messy and unpredictable, so you’ll need to be comfortable with a bit of chaos and able to go with the flow!
A Bit More About Us
Jasper’s family is originally from the Philippines, while my family has roots in the UK and New Zealand. Our cultural background shapes how we raise our kids — with a mix of traditions, good food, and lots of love.
We’re really excited about the idea of welcoming an au pair into our home and hope you’ll feel like part of the family from the moment you arrive!
