Welcome Letter to the Au Pair

This is our first experience with having a live-in au pair, although we have had nannies in Cape Town that have been incredible. We are still working out our new routine in Evian-les-bains, and will be flexible to create a working and living environment that suits you. We have a lovely 2-story home with a large garden that provides plenty of space for activities with the kids. We live 5 minutes walk from the Furnicular station that goes into the heart of Evian and the beaches. We are surrounded by trails for hiking and there are no shortage of activities, festivals, and more. We have traveled extensively and are always seeking new cultural experiences. We are looking forward to getting to know you and to an incredible year ahead.

Job Description

Our 5 year old will be attending school full time. We are still working on options for our 2 year old. Because of this, we are still trying to work out the new routine, and therefore, would need some flexibility to develop the schedule. There will be time during the week and also some weekend days. The total amount of hours could be 25-35 hours (on average) and can be discussed with you based on your preferences as well. One of the most important roles will be to speak French with our younger daughter since we are still learning ourselves, and she needs to hear it from a native speaker. Our older daughter has been in French school for 3 years so her French is quite good. They are not old enough to have academic homework, so we mainly just want someone who is creative, playful, engaging, and can keep engage with them (especially our younger daughter).

Accommodation

We live in a 2-story home. Our family lives on the lower floor. The upper floor has it's own entrance with a bedroom, bathroom and separate kitchen available for your privacy. We have WiFi so you will be able to stay connected in your free time. We would welcome you to join our family for meals and throughout the day. This is our first experience having an au pair, and we are flexible in setting up the arrangements to ensure a perfect experience for you and us.
