Welcome Letter to the Au Pair

Hello Au Pairs!

We are a happy couple from England and the USA, and we have a 2 year old son Alfie, as well as a 7 month old daughter, Piper. We relocated from California, USA a year ago to the UK to be closer to family, and we have a 5 bedroom house in Exeter, Devon. We both work full time in technology from home (9-5pm, Mon-Fri). The children are currently in nursery full time but we are looking to reduce that number to 2-3 days a week, and then have an au pair help on the other weekdays and an evening or two.

We are excited at the prospect of introducing the kids to different cultures, languages and foods - whilst also providing an enjoyable and memorable experience for an Au Pair. So hopefully this can be a win-win situation for everyone!

Think more along the lines that this will be an 'extension of family' role, rather than a 'job'. We want you to be happy and comfortable and have a positive experience with us. We have no unforeseen expectations and everything is open to a conversation.

The house itself is 0.8 miles from a train station, 3 miles from an airport and just a 2 hour train ride from London. Exeter is an up and coming young city with a University. Its the perfect balance of city life and nature on your doorstep.

Job Description

In terms of what we are looking for - someone who has experience with younger children and would enjoy spending their day to day with our little ones. They are really happy little humans and great to spend time with (Alfie is also quite the charmer!).

We will have a playroom set up, as well as a large back yard and multiple parks nearby. We are really flexible and just go with the flow, so we are pretty easy going.

We would also welcome you to socialize and explore with us as well if you wanted to. You will certainly never be left out without choice.

We are happy to discuss 'pocket money' and hours etc as needed so please don't let that be a blocker for you.

Accommodation

The room we are able to offer is upstairs and faces over the back garden - so its bright with lots of sunlight. Our master bedroom is downstairs so you will essentially have your own upstairs bathroom as well. The house is large with a large outdoor area, so there is plenty of space for everyone.
