Welcome Letter to the Au Pair

Dear Au Pairs.

We are a relaxed, fun-loving family getting used to life in Germany. We would like to welcome an au-pair into our family who would be considered as a big sister and who could help with the daily activities of the children, mostly with organising their afternoons, homework, some outings or craft activities, preparing meals together and just being part of the family! Ideally you will already be in Germany! My husband lives overseas and visits us every 4-6 weeks for about a week. Mostly it is just me and the two kids!

Please get in touch if you think we might be a match!

Job Description

We would love to have a very organised yet kind and patient (german speaking if possible) au-pair / tutor, to spend time with the two children after school and on weekends. I work two/ three afternoons per week and so the idea is to help them implement an after school routine of homework, eating healthy snack and some indoor/outdoor activity In the evenings helping the kids organise their belongings, pack bags for school and be prepared for the next day at school.
There may be days when we feel like going on an outing, other days playing board games, doing some crafts or watcing a film!
If the au-pair is german speaking she can help them with basic maths, writing reading and school projects as the kids are still getting used to school in the german language!

We would love to have an organised, routine-oriented, yet kind and patient (German speaking if possible) au-pair/tutor to spend time with the two children after school and on weekends.
I work two/three afternoons a week and so the idea is to help the two children implement an after school routine of homework, encouraging them to eat a healthy snack, perhaps some indoor/outdoor activity (more often with my 11 year old daughter).
In the evenings, helping the children organise their belongings, pack their school bags and get ready for the next day at school.
There might be days when we feel like going on an outing, other days we might play board games, do some arts and crafts or watch a film!
If the au-pair speaks German, she can help them with basic maths, reading and writing and school projects as the children are still getting used to school in German!

The au-pair would be treated as part of the family and would help with mealtimes such as setting the table, doing the washing up. Helping the children to keep their belongings and bedrooms tidy and organised, but they are not expected to do the cleaning.
