We are specifically looking for someone to help with both caring for the children as well as contributing to the daily household. This would include the following on a regular basis:

Look independently after the children, to include:
o play with the children including activities such as: educational play, arts and crafts, reading books, activities in the garden, sporting activities, going to the playground, trips to kids play activities the zoo and the national parks etc. Time spent outside and in nature is considered particularly valuable.
o arrange and take the children to play dates with other children or take them to organised activities (eg. swimming lessons, music play or other activities, Sebastian’s day-care drop off and pick up etc.)
o actively and responsibly manage some mealtimes for the children
o actively help with getting up and bedtime routines
o evening “babysitting” as agreed from time to time.
o drive the family car whilst looking after the children or for other activities in connection with participating in our family life.

Help with household duties, which include:
o keeping children’s areas clean and tidy including tidying up toys every evening after bedtime
o help cooking meals for the children (commonly cooked in batches and frozen in portions)
o help with family laundry
o help keeping common areas clean and tidy
o help tidying up kitchen after joint meals such as washing up or loading & emptying the dishwasher etc.
o help prepare joint family meals from time to time
o help with occasional grocery shopping
o (Cleaning and tidying up your own room, as well as washing and ironing of your own clothing, don’t count as housework).

Our family car is available for use when looking after the children or for any other activity in connection with participating in our family life. It would be your responsibility to have a valid driving license, but we will register you as a permitted driver under our insurance and cover all running costs of the car.

We will also provide you with an Australian SIM card (with unlimited calls within Australia and 20 countries including Germany and UK and generous data). At home you will also have access to our Wi-Fi. We know that being away from family and home can be hard but phone time should be minimised to after working hours and no screen time for kids.
