Welcome Letter to the Au Pair

Welcome to our family! We are a British Mum, an Australian Dad, and two happy little boys, aged 3 and 4. We live in a beautiful part of the world - very leafy and green, in the ring of towns just outside London. We love adventure: both Mum and Dad travel for work, so we tend to have a very busy life all round - exploring places at weekends, finding the next thing to climb on / ride on for the boys, and generally trying to have as much fun as we can :)

Logistics: We live a 3-minute walk from a train station that takes you to London in 40 minutes. The nearby village, also just 3 minutes away, has coffee shops and other amenities. The main town is a 10-minute walk away, and it offers plenty of shops and restaurants. Our closest language school is also a 10-minute walk away, and there are convenient bus stops around the corner. We look forward to welcoming you to our home and making your stay with us a very pleasant one.

Job Description

We are looking for someone to be able to look after our little boys if we are home late from London on the same day or if one or both of us has to be out of the country for a business trip at the same time - as well as some consistent childcare during the day on Wednesdays and/or Thursdays.

For the most part, our boys have a nanny or their grandmother coming to play with them - so we are more looking for someone to be in the house in the evenings or early mornings whilst we can't be there. No other help is expected, but if you see something that needs doing around the house, go for it!!

Our house is a busy one - so someone who doesn't mind a bit of chaos and is flexible with when their help is needed - but we also hugely value kindness and support, so if you're looking for a safe space to explore from then this is it.

Accommodation

We live in a grade II listed house in a leafy suburb with an enclosed garden. Your room would be on the second floor: it has a king-sized bed and a large window that lets in lots of natural light. There's a bathroom just down the hall for your use with a bath, shower, window looking onto the garden. We have extremely fast broadband throughout the house and modern appliances, with a kitchen, living room, and space to relax and feel at home.
